I love design; in all it’s manifestations. Buildings, decor, cooking, nature, print. At the end of the day, it’s all about presentation. I love taking an idea and making it beautiful. And so, I design… and sometimes, I write…
As a self-employed Cape Town based, graphic designer, specialising in the fields of corporate identity (logo) design, print design and branding I spend the majority of my time designing and implementing marketing promotions for businesses such as logos, letterhead, business cards, brochures, packaging and more.
In December 2010, I bid my life in the corporate world goodbye and decided to go solo. With 15 years of design under the belt, having worked on great brands such as @home, TotalSports, Due South, Ackermans, Checkers, Entrepo, Intec, Damelin and more, I was more than ready to meet the challenge of going Freelance. I set high standards for myself as I believe in a sense of duty, integrity and professionalism. I feel that good communication is the key to a successful client relationship and subsequently successful design project. To this end I place great importance on understanding the client needs and delivering on the brief.
I spent 4 years in the Gulag. Ok, not really. I spent 4 years studying Graphic Design and have a National Diploma (NDPGRD) from Cape Peninsula Technical College. I have subsequently done courses on Internet Marketing, Creative Writing, Time Management and Presentation skills.
As an avid reader, interested interviewer and enthusiastic writer I spend alot of free time with my books (or used to, as my gorgeous new 1 year old currently makes it a challenge). Movies are one of my passions (although I suspect this may be a thing of the past too, see 1 year old) as well as traveling and great food. When I’m not designing I write a blog which reviews restaurants in the Cape Town area. It’s really just an excuse to eat out as much as possible.
With a positive outlook and huge drive I am optimistic about the future. Give me a call or drop me a mail and let’s chat.
